Comparing with floor heating, the fan coil system is essentially a completely watery system. Fan Coil Unit includes a fan and a coil which are used for heating and cooling and these units need a thermostat to be controlled.
If there is a single coil in the fan coil used, the system is called 2 pipes fan coil system. Two pipes circulate in the system making distribution and collection. A distribution pipe and a collection pipe are connected to each fan coil unit. In this case, either cold water or hot water can be circulated throughout the system.
If there are two separate pipes as heating and cooling in the fan coil, the installed system is called a four-pipe fan coil system. Four pipes circulate in the system, making two distributions and two collecting. Two distribution pipes and two collector pipes are connected to each fan coil unit. Cold water circulates independently in one of the pipe pairs and hot water in the other. Therefore, heating and cooling can be done simultaneously in each fan coil unit independently of each other. Compared to the 2 pipes, the 4 pipes are more complex but easier for the water management.Since fan coil systems operate in heating and cooling, it is required to perform heating or cooling in summer or winter periods. In this case, we will normally introduce the change-over sensor which is used to detect water temperature (to judge winter or summer). In General situation, heating or cooling mode selection can be made manually. When heating mode selected; If the room temperature falls below the set temperature, the fan coil is activated and tries to heat the environment. In cooling mode, if the room temperature rises above the set temperature, the fan coil is activated and tries to cool the environment.Where are the fan coil thermostats installed?Fan coil systems used in commercial buildings such as hospitals, hotels, shopping malls and business centers operate in two types. These systems, called 2-pipe and 4-pipe, directly affect the comfort and energy savings of the users.Based on different applications, Modbus/Bacnet/KNX protocol based fan coil thermostat is needed for different installations.
The energy price is rising every day due to the Russia-Ukraine crisis it’s critical to pay attention to the your in-house climate control.
Now that the winter is approaching, your heater might be running more often to keep your home warm and comfortable. Monitoring your usage can keep your heating bills from getting out of hand, One of the easiest ways to do that is by using E-Top smart thermostat. A smart thermostat offers more control over your home’s temperature and climate than a manual thermostat. They are easy to install and use, and the best part is you’ll see immediate change.
We have summarized 5 main reasons of why you should get a E-Top Smart Thermostat,
1:Save Money
The main reason many people switch to a smart thermostat is to save money. Programming a smart thermostat is simple, and it features many built-in settings. Over time, a smart thermostat can help you keep money in your wallet and maximize your energy savings by learning your habits and routines so it can automatically adjust your energy usage without using a finger.
2:Automated Reminders
A smart thermostat can provide helpful information and set different reminders to improve the health and air quality of your home. For example, you’re able to set air filter alert on our E3 Air Conditioner Controller. You can even program the thermostat to send you notifications like when your heating and cooling system needs maintenance or repairing.
3:Remote Access
With a manual thermostat, you have to be at home to make any changes to the temperature. So if you forget to turn off your system before you leave for the day, you’ll be paying to heat an empty home. With a smart thermostat, you can set the temperature from anywhere using an app on your smartphone or tablet.
4:A More Comfortable Home
When you have more control over your home’s temperature, you can make sure your home is always comfortable for you. This means if you have been gone all day and are on your way home on a cold night, you can pre-heat your home and have it nice and warm when you get there. Comparing with traditional heating and cooling, we’re using the PI or PID control which brings excellent comfort to people’s life.
5:Energy Usage Information for energy monitoring
A smart thermostat allows you to review your energy usage history. This will help a lot for your knowing of how the energy is consumed every period and it brings possibility of auto-matic learning program on the Smart App.

When it comes to heating your home, there are many options to choose from.In this article we’ll introduce the main two methods: the cold climate heat pump and the traditional boiler.
Here’s how the two are different:
A heat pump operates by extracting heat from the outside air and transferring it inside your home.
While a traditional boiler uses natural gas, propane, or heating oil to create heat which is then circulated through your home’s pipes.
A boiler either heats up water until it turns into steam—and that steam then circulates through your home’s pipes to deliver heat, often via radiators—or it heats up water and circulates it through pipes in your home.
Advantages of boilers
1)Assuming your radiators and waters pipes are in good condition, it’s much cheaper to install a new boiler than a heat pump.
2)Boilers are old technology which are simple to use for old users
3)Boilers can support multiple fuel sources, like electricity, gas, or oil
4) Boilers can be used for long time
Disadvantages of boilers
1) Boilers are significantly less efficient than heat pumps, so the ongoing energy use will be higher
2) Boilers have the risk of safety dur to the file or oil
3) The heating efficiency is slow
4)Boilers can be pretty noisy, especially if there’s something wrong
5)Boiler technology is becoming increasingly outdated
6)The average cost to replace a boiler is expensive
7)Boilers are a completely separate system—if you want air conditioning, you’ll need to purchase and maintain a separate HVAC appliance (as well as separate ductwork!)
In summary: Boilers are an older technology that can provide adequate heat if they’re maintained well. But they’re not nearly as efficient as more modern options and they carry risks.
While comparing with the boiler technology, Heat pumps work very differently than boilers.
The advantage of this technology is that a heat pump can provide both heating and cooling for your home using one simple, unified system. You don’t need a boiler and an air conditioner—just a heat pump.
A heat pump will also dehumidify your air as well as filter it for impurities—which your boiler and radiators definitely can’t do.
Disadvantages of heat pumps
1)If you boiler also provides hot water, you’ll likely need a separate water heater
2)If your climate is extremely cold, you might need to supplement your heat pump with backup electric heat or by leaving your old boiler in place.
3)Heat pumps can be less expensive to operate and maintain over time since they’re more efficient, but they are definitely more expensive to install.
With the HT-04 series plug-in thermostat, E-top Controls offers a maximally flexible solution for controlling infrared heating panels and other electric heaters or air-conditioning units. Simply plug the device in and connect your electric heater or air conditioner to the socket.
