What is wiring centre ?

The wiring centre is where all the wiring for a under floor heating system meets. It is powered by a 230v fused-spur supply and coordinates the signals received from each of the heating thermostats.

When each thermostat calls for heat in any one of the heating zones the following happens:

• The zone valve on the primary heating circuit opens (only on the first thermostat calling for heat – it then remains open until the last thermostat reaches temperature)
• The manifold pump is fired, maintaining the flow rate around the UFH pipe work loops
• Sends an ‘enable’ signal back to the boiler to activate it, if it is not already firing

On market, there are two types: Wired wiring centre & wireless wiring centre. The main different is how thermostats at each zone connect to wiring centre.

For wired wiring centre, the heating thermostats at each rooms are connected to wiring centre by cables, and get power from wiring centre also.

For wireless wiring centre, zone thermostats are RF wireless communicate with wiring centre. Compared with wired version, wireless wiring centre is much convenient on those house without cable installed.

We supply both wired and wireless wiring centres for 230v, 12v, and also wired digital thermostat, rf wireless thermostat. They are suitable for 1 to 16 heating zones.

For some application needs, WIFI, Opentherm, Modbus function can be combined into wiring centre.
